Emily C. McNally, Associate

Ms. McNally chose the practice of law because of the opportunity it presents for advocacy. As a former Assistant Public Defender in Allegheny County, she was individually responsible for approximately 250 to 300 cases per year, and represented clients on a broad range of offenses, from summary and misdemeanor charges to serious felonies such as sexual assaults and attempted homicides. She has extensive courtroom experience, including pretrial and post-sentencing legal arguments and jury and nonjury trials. Her jury trials include armed robberies, aggravated assaults, firearms, and drug felonies. Ms. McNally’s background in the Office of the Public Defender often involved advocating on behalf of men and women from vulnerable populations, and she considers it a priority that her clients understand the legal process and are informed about their cases.

As an Associate at Farrell & Reisinger, LLC, Ms. McNally’s practice primarily focuses on federal and state criminal defense, including white collar matters. She also represents plaintiffs in civil rights cases.

Ms. McNally earned her J.D. in 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she received the Ronald D. Ecker Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Client Counseling in 2006 and 2007. As a law student, she interned at the Pennsylvania ACLU, Senior LAW Center in Philadelphia, and the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender.

Ms. McNally received her B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1998. She previously worked as a grant writer at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Ms. McNally is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
